The world’s oldest football club – Sheffield FC – are Spalding United’s visitors at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field on Saturday (3pm).
The Tulips lost 4-3 in the Evo-Stik League First Division South reverse back on October 4, but haven’t been beaten in the league since.
Their record in all competitions since then is remarkable, with 14 wins, three draws and one loss from 18 games.
Boss Pat Rayment isn’t expecting a repeat performance, having seen his side demolish higher-graded Barwell 4-1 in the Doodson Sport Cup on Tuesday night.
He said: “The last time we played Sheffield we produced some of the most calamitous defending I’ve seen. It’s a game we’d like to forget. We gifted them all four goals. I’ve seen some birthday presents before, but that was ridiculous.
“But that seems like a long time ago and we’ve progressed since then. We’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves – will Sheffield relish coming here?
“I don’t think so. We’re not going to disappoint them.”
Strikers Ryan Oliver and Andrew Tidswell are nursing knocks, but Jordan Hempenstall and Jordan Nuttell should be fit to return.
