Ash Fuller hit a hat-trick as ChromaSport UCL Premier Division leaders Holbeach United won 5-0 at Wellingborough Town on Saturday.
And there was two goals for Jamie Clarke on his debut for the Tigers.
The Doughboys had been looking for their fourth straight win but it never looked likely as Fuller and Clarke’s first goals either side of half-time put Holbeach in command.
Joint Tigers boss Graham Drury, who has now managed Clarke at three clubs, said: “He made the difference.”
Meanwhile, it was a different tale at the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field as Spalding United’s five-match unbeaten run was ended.
They lost 2-1 to Newcastle Town in front of a crowd of 166.
Andrew Tidswell got the Tulips’ goal with a good finish, but it was a nightmare debut for new signing Ryan Oliver who had to come off after 15 minutes with a twisted ankle.
He’s hoping to be fit for Tuesday’s trip to Loughborough Dynamo.
The Tulips are 11th in Evo-Stik Division One South. Newcastle are up to fifth after goals from Elliot Osborne and Tim Sanders (penalty).
