Brett looks to speak out

A Spalding man is looking to carve out a career in the entertainment industry after amassing 90,000 follows on social media site TikTok.

Brett Harman runs Bretflix where he talks about movies and has also become a voiceover artist.
That’s after being mentored in the profession by Pete Dickson, he of the huge voice on The X Factor and Channel Four commercials.
“With a background in performing arts, over lockdown, I decided to transfer my acting skills over to voiceover whilst working from home,” he said.
“I equipped my home with a state-of-the-art studio and joined some online voiceover courses to learn the ropes.
“I soon began to secure character voice acting roles within online games.
“After working hard on some demo reels to demonstrate my skills, I gained two London voice agents and then a US agent in Minneapolis.
“I have worked on voiceovers for various county councils, fire and rescue commercials, TV furniture adverts, collaborated with The University of Nottingham, corporate functions, educational explainer videos and also will be voicing a commentator in a feature film about rock climbing releasing later this year.
“I hope to really venture into character voicing within animation and cartoons in the future.”
Brett set up the Rush Hour Escape Room in Spalding with his partner Hannah Stinson in 2019.
She died last year following a battle with cancer and the business is now up for sale.
“My aspirations are to become a film critic or interviewer or to be a TV presenter would be a dream come true,” Brett said.
