Brand hits back with victory at Pode Hole

Another damp Tuesday evening greeted the 13 riders for Spalding Cycling Club’ weekly time trial event.

A last-minute course change saw a return to the Pode Hole course with Dominic Brand taking a strong win in 21 minutes 39 seconds to make up for the disappointment of the previous week’s defeat.
He was followed home by Frazer Wallis, 22:19, with Matt Chappell, 22:35, and rounding out the podium.
Kieran Buffham continued his domination of the road bike category with an impressive 22:58, beating many on time trial bikes.
Evgeniya Brand again smashed the women’s field, coming in ninth overall with a time of 25:39.
The weekend also saw a strong turnout for the Spalding club at the Fenland Clarion 25 mile time trial. Five Spalding riders took to the start line – Frazer Wallis, Matt Chappell, Dan Warner, James Brammer and Tom Drew.
The club came away with a team win and Wallis took second place overall with a time of 56:08.
