Brand and Wallis both pick up victories

Perfect condition greeted Spalding Cycling Club’s return to the classic Pode Hole course.

Fifteen riders took to the ten-mile loop with a low tail wind pushing the riders down the Delph straight.

It was very close for the win between Dom Brand and returnee Josh Wallis. Wallis, making his first time trial appearance of the season, won the road bike category (21:21) but Brand beat him by one second to take the overall win.

The podium was rounded off with Frazer Wallis rediscovering some form with a strong 21:41, just ahead of long-time rival Chris Ward, 22:08. A solid performance from Dan Warner (23:08) was enough for him to pip in-form Mark Booth (23:11) to sixth place.

Evgeniya Brand continued her domination of the women’s category with a rapid 25:17, leading home ever-improving Samantha Briffett (29:01) and Louise Southgate, on her road bike in 29:27.
