Boy (16) in court over attempted murder charge

A 16-year-old boy charged with attempted murder after another teenager was seriously injured in Holbeach has appeared at Lincoln Crown Court.

Officers were called to Spalding Road in Holbeach at about 1.50am on Sunday, July 28.

They found a 16-year-old boy who was taken to hospital with serious injuries, Lincolnshire Police said.

The arrested teenager, who was represented by defence barrister Karen Walton, was sent to Lincoln Crown Court after appearing at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.

No pleas were entered to the allegation when the 16-year-old appeared before Judge Catarina Sjolin Knight.

The 16-year-old, who can not be named because of his age, will next appear at Lincoln Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on October 18.

His trial was provisionally listed to begin at Lincoln Crown Court on January 13 next year. It is expected to last two weeks.

Lincolnshire Police have asked the public not to speculate on the circumstances of the incident while they continue their investigation.

The force also appealed for witnesses and anybody in the area at the time of the incident to contact them.
