Boy (15) arrested on suspicion of firearms offence after police helicopter search

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after reports of person with a gun sparked a police helicopter search in Spalding.

The incident was reported at 8.17pm on Sunday night (January 15) in Hall Place.

The police helicopter was seen and heard circling the town.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police, said: “Following further work by officers in CID, a 15-year-old boy was identified as the suspect yesterday afternoon (January 19), and arrested on suspicion of a firearms offence.

“He is not in custody and will be interviewed next week.

“We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

“This is an active investigation and our enquiries are ongoing.”
