Bourne suffer shock loss at Gosberton

Bourne SC lost ground on the top two in the Spalding & District Billiards League with a 4-3 defeat at Gosberton B.

Marcus Pell (O40) was the star for the hosts with breaks of 23, 38 and 20 in a 200-169 win.
Des Forbes chipped in with two 22 breaks in his 200-158 win after Kieran Richards (R50) had levelled 200-111. It was only the second victory of the season for the bottom-placed side.
Donington stayed three points clear at the top thanks to a 5-2 success against Gosberton A courtesy of victories from Ben Wrigglesworth (R20) and Tony Scully (R40).
That was matched by Consti A, who saw off Pyramid A. Alan Hansard (R80) made a break of 20 in his 200-149, with John Bellerby (R70) also winning. John Twell (R70) pulled one back.
Holbeach B closed the gap on Bourne with a 5-2 ‘away’ win at clubmates Holbeach A, where Mick Cooper (o200) lost 200-193 despite scoring breaks of 40, 23, 25, 24, 31, 26 and 43.
Consti B closed in on the top half of the table with an impressive 7-0 victory at Pyramid B. Mick Johnson (-150) led the way with breaks of 25, 42, 26, 23, 23 and 30-plus in a 200-182 win.
