Both divisional winners clinch doubles at Spalding and District Darts League finals night

Two teams wrapped up doubles on the finals night of the D Brown Builders Spalding and District Darts League last week.

Division One winners Tigers A cemented their status as the league’s top team by lifting the Supreme Cup, while Division Two champions Consti D claimed the Dick Morgan Memorial Cup.

The evening got under way with Tigers B seeing off Abbey Hotel to get their hands on the Kelly Foster Cup.

Then came the Dick Morgan finale, as Consti D saw off rivals Lincoln Arms.

The third final was the biggest team trophy on offer and saw Tigers A defeat Division One runners-up New Saracen’s Head C to lift the Supreme Cup crown.

Next up was the Mixed Pairs final, which saw Gary Mace and Claire Brookin get the better of Simon and Casey Hill.

Then came the Triples Champion of Champions final, which saw Dan Gent, Jake Merrill and Dean Murray (Lincoln Arms) defeat New Saracen’s Head C trio Mark Horspool, Ant Richardson and Colin Hatter.

There was more delight for Tigers A in the Division One Pairs final, as Duggie McInereny and Scott Williams got the better of team-mates Mace and Brookin to deny them a doubles double.

TROPHY TIME: Division Two champions Consti D added the Dick Morgan Memorial Cup.

The Division Two Pairs final, meanwhile, was clinched by Consti D’s Ady Smith and Kev Baker after they defeated Dan and Kev Cooper from Old Black Lion.

Then came the Ladies’ final, which saw Casey Hill claim her second title by beating Dawn MacTavish.

Tigers B’s Ian McCreery was the next to lift silverware, defeating Sam Roberts (Consti A) in the Captain’s Cup finale.

The evening closed with Alex Gostic (Wheatsheaf) beating Dan Merrill (Fisherman’s Arms) in the Division Two singles final and Tigers A’s Williams seeing off team-mate Mace in the Division One singles final.
