Both area’s Sunday sides defeated

Both Moulton Harrox and Long Sutton 2nd XI suffered defeats in the Rutland Sunday League Division Four East.

Orton Park leapt above Moulton into second with a convincing win.
Their batsmen enjoyed the wicket with the top four of Sam Jarvis (65), Jack Calpin (45), Thomas Smith (24) and Divyeash Vaseeharan (70) all in the runs.
A late cameo of 28 not out from Edd Crisp saw them up to 248 for 6 from 39 overs.
Cameron Fox was the pick of the Moulton bowlers taking 2 for 46 while there were wickets for Ruari Drumm (1 for 23), Harry Lovell (1 for 37), Jamie Kitchen (1 for 56) and Paul Bullock (1 for 57).
Fox also top scored with the bat for Moulton hitting 24 batting at eight.
None of the Moulton batters got going with opener Kitchen (17), Lovell (14) and Tom Richardson-Woodward the only players to make double figures.
Moulton were all out for 124 in the 32nd over.
Callum Brownlie took 4 for 22 for Orton.
It was a similar result for Long Sutton 2nd in the same division at CSKA.
Sutton put the opposition in and early on Steven Miles had the openers out Max Mattless (9) caught and bowled by Steven Milnes (1 for 43) and Chris Whyatt (23) bowled by Arjun Odedra (1 for 22).
However CSKA’s number three Adam Conyard took the game their way scoring an impressive 130 not out.
Faz Mukhtar claimed 2 for 48) but CSKA ended their 40 overs on 219 for 5.
Sutton started the reply well with openers Ryan Plant (25) and Calvin Bird (48) going well.
They were the only ones to reach double figures though as the rest of the batting order folded.
Long Sutton were all out for 124 after 31 overs as the visitors claimed a 95 run win.
Matless claimed 5 for 11 from six for CSKA.
