A Spalding man who assaulted his partner during a drunken argument, has been ordered by a court to go 90 days without consuming any alcohol.
Maris Dudars (32) of St Paul’s Road, admitted assaulting his partner by beating on June 23.
Prosecuting, Paul Wood said that during the evening, after they had both taken drink, an argument developed as to whether or not she was going to leave, during which he pushed her to the floor and kicked her, leaving her with bruises and a cut elbow.
Mr Wood said that when Dudars left the room, she got out of the flat.
Dudars told police that he argued when he was drunk and that resulted in pushing and shoving.
Mr Wood said that Mr Dudars’ partner told police in a victim impact statement that violence was a “feature of their relationship” and that she felt “physical and moral pain and was stressed”.
Mitigating, Tony Davies said it was “not the worst assault”.
“He slapped her and she scratched him,” he said, adding that drink was a major factor.
After hearing from the Probation Service, the magistrates ordered Dudars to carry out 20 days of rehabilitation and also to undergo 90 days of alcohol abstinence by wearing an alcohol monitoring electronic tag.
He was also ordered to pay £170 in costs and charges.
