Bookmark time to look for Elves and raise money for Spalding Flower Parade

Elves are still being able to help Spalding Flower Parade raise money this Christmas, despite being slightly blown off course by Storm Darragh.

An Elf Trail was planned as part of the Winter Wonderland at Ayscoughfee Hall last week which had to be called off due to the high winds.

However the Elf’s have instead been welcomed by Bookmark in The Crescent in Spalding.

You can take part in the Elf Trail at the store for £2 with all funds going towards the Spalding Flower Parade.

A spokesman for the parade said: “There is a prize upon completion and all funds raise go towards the Flower Parade fund.

“There is short video clip on our Facebook page from Twinkle the Elf explaining the trail which is available until December 23.”

Due to the Winter Wonderland’s cancellation, the quick thinking members of the committee continued to attempt to raise as much money for the parade as possible by having two events in Pinchbeck instead.

Volunteers put on stalls at both the Pinchbeck Hub and Pinchbeck East Primary Schhol.

Tanya Wilson-Chandler, the lead volunteer, said: “It meant so much to us all as we have so many beautiful handmade festive items, which have been made by our amazing volunteers over the last few months and it would have been such a shame if we were unable to show them off.

“Thanks to our core volunteers who, whenever asked, are there when needed.

“It’s been an absolute privilege to work alongside each and everyone of you.”

Along with a stall at The Crescent event on December 6, the volunteers raised just shy of £400 over the three events.
