Bomb squad called to Spalding twice in a week

The bomb squad carried out two controlled explosions in Spalding within the space of a week.

The most recent operation from the explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) unit took place on

Friday when a training round was found in a property in Fen End Lane.

At 1.35pm a controlled detonation was carried out.

The first controlled detonation of the week took place at Spalding Grammar School, when EOD responded to a potentially explosive chemical found in a lab.
