Bluey launches summer of fun at Springfields

There are probably fewer celebrities on the planet who could create the kind of frenzy that Springfields Shopping Outlet saw for the first of its Family Fun Fridays last week.

There were faces of ecstasy, tears of joy and plenty of smiling faces as Australian dog Bluey flew in to meet her fans.

Families queued for well over an hour to meet the blue heeler dog character and there were a host of games and stalls surrounding it all.

Springfields estimate there were around 1,000 queuing for a photo with Bluey.

Retail marketing manager Adam Whittaker, said: “Springfields’ Family Fun Fridays are set to be very popular this month with our Bluey meet and greet proving a huge success.

“We’ve seen plenty of smiles on faces and the fun is only just beginning at Springfields Designer Outlet.

“With a great line up each Friday this August including animal talks, dinosaurs and Sooty, we invite families to join us for free entertainment and a great day out of shopping and fun.”

Tomorrow (Friday, August 8) families can discover snakes, lizards and reptiles, on August 15 there is a dinosaurs theme and on August 22 turtles, invertebrates and mammals will be encountered.

To wrap up the summer fun days, the stars of the world’s longest-running children’s programme, The Sooty Show, are back by popular demand on August 29.
