Blooming marvellous gesture

A long-standing flower club has raised £900 for palliative care at Spalding’s Johnson Hospital.

The majority of the money was raised at Saracen’s Head Flower Club’s annual charity China Tea Party on September 5.
The evening commenced with tea, which was supplied by the flower club ladies, followed by a flower demonstration by Ann Purts who created five wonderful arrangements.
Following the demo an auction and raffle was held with all items donated by members and guests.
During the evening there was also a balloon game with several donated prizes.
Two weeks later on September 19, a presentation of £900 was made to the Tulip Suite of Spalding Johnson Hospital.
Receiving the cheque was Julie Rodwell and Sue Wray who gave a short talk.
A spokesman for the club thanked all involved for their support.
