Blooming award for floral Kay as Long Sutton gets silver

Long Sutton has been awarded a silver in the annual East Midlands in Bloom competition.

And Kay Jenkinson was given a special award recognition of her long service as the founder of Long Sutton in Bloom.
The East Midlands in Bloom ceremony was held at St Mary’s Church in Melton Mowbray last week.
Kay’s presentation was the East Midlands in Bloom Committee Award and she said it was a total shock.
“My award was a complete surprise,” she said.
“The Bloomers are pleased to receive a Silver Award, our aim is to make Long Sutton a pleasant place to live in – not really to win awards.”
Long Sutton is the only place in South Holland represented in the East Midlands contest.
