Blind Society is ready for 2019

A group that helps the blind and partially sighted in Spalding is gearing up for a 2019 full of activities.

The South Lincolnshire Blind Society aims to connect people with sensory loss through regular sessions.

These include the Monday Social ‘eyes’ at 12pm to 2pm on the first Monday of every month and the All Day Social ‘eyes’ from 10am to 3pm on the third Monday of every month.

The sessions are held at the Sir Halley Stewart Football Ground and run by Virginia Richardson and her team of volunteers.

A spokesman said: “The aim of the group is to help people to get together to meet new people who also have some degree of sensory loss, their families and carers too.

“At the club you will find a very warm welcome and the opportunity to talk to others, make new friends, listen to guest speakers, learn about some of the latest gadgets and technology to help you make the most of your sensory loss.

“You will be able to find out about additional services and support available to help you to live independently and it’s a point of contact for you with our specialist workers.”
