Holbeach United had to settle for a point as they were held by relegation threatened Rothwell Corinthians in the Future Lions United Counties League on Saturday.
The Tigers fell behind to a free kick routine from the visitors as they struggled to find their feet in the first half.
However, the Tigers eventually took control of the match at Carter’s Park and began to create chances.
A fine team move provided them with the leveller just before the break.
The Tigers worked it well down the left hand side before Will Bird was on hand to finish the ball from a cross.
The second period was a more tepid affair with the third from bottom Rothwell happy to take home a point.
Holbeach did create further chances but they were unable to take advantage and had to settle for a point against a Rothwell side just five points above the bottom two.
“We didn’t take our chances,” Tigers manager Danny Hussey said. “After going behind we then went through a spell of just knocking the ball long and not controlling the game but then we got our passing going again for the last 20 minutes.
“I told them that if they played like they did in that 20 minutes they’d go on and win it.
“But Rothwell with their situation were happy with a point and the game became a bit stale.
“We still created quite a few chances, but we didn’t take them.”
