Bingo! Phyllis’s fundraising passes £7,000 mark

Charity champion Phyllis Harris has taken her fundraising past the £7,000 mark after her latest bingo event at Whaplode Village Hall.

Phyllis raised £374.50 for a memorial garden which is being created in Westgate Woods at Boston. The plan is to develop a restful memorial space accessible by all for relatives, friends and colleagues to come and remember those who have died in tragic circumstances on Lincolnshire’s roads.

Phyllis has thanked everyone who has supported her efforts in the past 18 months, which have also helped contribute £100 from each event for funds to keep the hall going.

She said: “The bingo wouldn’t keep going without people to support it every month. Everyone who attends, the helpers, checkers, kitchen staff, ticket sellers and caller Lee Morris all deserve a special thank you.”

The bingo events are held on the third Friday of each month.
