Billiards round-up: Seven-up Donington impress, Holbeach A hit the summit

Donington produced their best performance of the Spalding and District Billiards League season so far on Monday night.

They cruised to a 7-0 success over Crowland in one of only two fixtures to take place in the latest round of action.

Frame wins from Nigel Brasier (R90), Ben Wrigglesworth (R40) and Jim Thompson (R50) got the job done for Donington as they took maximum points.

Thompson finished off the 600-429 aggregate triumph well by pocketing a 20 break in the final frame.

With the top three not in action due to a spree of postponements, Holbeach A were able to climb to the top of the early standings with a 5-2 victory at basement side Consti B.

Their frame wins came from Ben Harding (R40) and James Glover (R90), with the former helping himself to breaks of 23 and 22.

The frame of the night was contested by Mick Johnson (O170) and Colin Dodd (scr), however.

Consti cue ace Johnson reeled off breaks of 53, 35, 28, 27 and 25 as he edged the tussle 200-189, but Dodd did reply with handy scores of 34 and 22 respectively.

Long Sutton v Pyramid A, Pyramid B v Consti A and Holbeach B v Gosberton A were all postponed.
