Billiards round-up: Childs shines again in Crowland victory, Holbeach A stay top

Rob Childs lit up the Spalding and District Billiards League once again on Monday night.

The Crowland cue master, who plays off an O270 handicap, made 11 breaks of 20 or more as his side defeated Consti A 5-2.

The pick of Childs’ efforts was an awesome 87 break, while he also made notable totals of 46, 37 and 36.

Allan Sharman (R70) was the other Crowland winner, settling the contest in the final frame.

Also on winning form were leaders Holbeach A, who saw off the challenge of club-mates Holbeach B 5-2.

Colin Dodd (O10) won the all-important final frame to settle that one, wrapping matters up with an unfinished 22.

Neil Harvey (R50) did shine for the B team, though, as he sank a 34 break.

The 5-2 theme continued with Donington taking down hosts Consti B for five welcome points.

Ben Wrigglesworth (R50) starred with a 38 break en-route to winning the final frame, while Mick Johnson (O170) sank a 30 break for the beaten hosts.

Another side to win 5-2 was Gosberton A, who knocked off hosts Pyramid A. Frame victories from Andy Shephard (R120) and Malc Dennis (R110) got the job done for the Bourne side.
