Organisers of a new bike night in Spalding are hoping the popular event will attract more visitors to the town.
More than 70 bikers turned up at the inaugural event at the Royal Mail Cart on Pinchbeck Road a fortnight ago.
And, due to its popularity, organisers now want it to become a weekly event which aims to boost Spalding’s profile.
Tony Cooper-Lee, who organises the bike night with side-kick Sam Wright, believes the weekly get-together can only be good for the town.
He said: “There’s been groups and meetings in the surrounding areas, but we haven’t had one in Spalding for quite a long time.
“We thought it would be good to bring something like it to Spalding and so far it has been absolutely brilliant.
“We’ve had bikers travelling from different parts of the country to meet up and have a get-together.
“We now want to keep building on it because it’s good for the town and will give Spalding good exposure.”
Tony explained that bikers from all over the East Midlands had attended the Wednesday night meetings.
And he hoped more would attend further meetings once word spread among the motorcycling fraternity.
Tony added: “We’ve had bikers from Peterborough, Northampton and Market Rasen coming over.
“It’s great to get on a bike, have a ride out and meet up with friends for a hot drink, food and listen to music.
“It’s been a fantastic success so far and hopefully it will get better and better.”
The Spalding Bike Night is every Wednesday from 6.30pm at the Royal Mail Cart.
