Moulton Harrox Seconds took a huge step towards preserving their South Lincs Border League Division One status with a 74-run home win against relegation rivals Market Deeping Seconds.
Captain Rob Callaby lost the toss and his team were asked to bat. Zak Maddison (19) was the only one of the top order to reach double figures but Moulton had strength in depth and Ruari Drumm (76no) and Lewis Martin (26) turned things around before late cameos from Lewis Peak (14) and Harry Shersby (14) gave them a reasonable 183/7.
That proved to be well outside the reach of Deeping, who were all back in the pavilion with only 109 runs to their name after collapsing from 82/2 under a multi-pronged attack. That saw six of the Moulton bowlers claim a wicket. Zak Maddison led the way with 3-19.
Moulton’s Sunday side fell to a four-wicket defeat at Rutland League Division Four East leaders Hampton after posting a decent 212/5.
However, that was not quite enough as the hosts reached 213/6 with five balls to spare.
