A Spalding band are making waves in the local music scene while dreaming of pushing on even further.
The Bare Minimum are all only 16 and 17 but have already been a group for four years.
They’re proving a big hit with local crowds thanks to their repertoire of covers, especially at this year’s Spalding Festival where they went down a storm.
But they’re also working on their own material and have had conversations about touring the country with others when they turn 18.
The group know each other from local schools and colleges, founder member and drummer Finn Emmott told The Voice.
“We’re a group of lovely people who love to play music together,” he said. “We just want to get out there and play for people.
“We want to share our music; it doesn’t feel like work to us at all.”
Currently the group of Finn, Rowan Armstrong (bass), Rohan Pinnick (guitar), Sophia Wheeler (guitar) and Sophie Mcguire (vocals) play covers by the likes of The Killers, The Clash and The Frattellis,
But The Bare Minimum are working hard on going to the next level.
“We have worked on some of our own original songs,” Finn continues. “We’re not quite at the stage where we feel they’re ready yet for the world, but we’re getting there.
“I would like to get at least one song on Spotify soon.
“There’s not just one songwriter; we all work together on everything.
“We all chip in with ideas.
“We want to keep going and do more festivals in particularly.
“We’ve a few gigs lined up and we’ve spoke to a few people who want to take us on tour with them, though they’re waiting for us to turn 18.
“Headlining the Spalding Festival has been the highlight so far.
“It was an absolutely brilliant event and we want more days likes that.”
