Bid to improve duck safety

Plans are being put together to look to improve the safety of ducks in Holbeach.

Steve Muy organised the ‘Duck Safety Meeting’ outside All Saints’ Church on High Street on Saturday with attendees including district and county councillor Tracey Carter, members of Holbeach Parish Council and the town-based Waddles Duck Rescue.

Parish councillor Isobel Hutchinson said: “It was a productive meeting, and the parish council is going to be working with Waddles Duck rescue to discuss plans to improve the nature reserve down Fishpond Lane.

“We also discussed getting the children involved to make signs, and members of the public are organising regular patrols to check the drains etc for injured or trapped ducks.”
