BID delayed putting flowers out due to weather

Flower displays in Spalding are set to spring up in the next few weeks after organisers decided not to put them out before the May heatwave.

The Spalding Business Improvement District is carrying out the measures and is also to put up bunting.

Last year it put out hanging baskets but its manager Sarah Fletcher says this year will be ‘different’ and plants haven’t been put out yet ‘to give the plants the best possible chance of establishing well’.

“Thanks to the donation of a wide range of containers from Lincoln Business Improvement Group, from very large planters to smaller displays, we are creating an overall floral theme to help smarten up the town

“We expect everything to be in place within the next couple of weeks.”.
