Bennett walks away with £300

Sunday saw the first Spalding League Winter Darts Open, this was off the back of a successful annual Spalding Darts Open.

72 people entered and were fighting for £300 prize for the winner, £150 runner up and £75 for each losing semi finalist.
There was some really good darts on the day and overall winner was Leighton Bennett (Lincoln) who stormed to a 5-0 victory in the final over Sam Roberts (Spalding) with 13, 14, 14, 17 and 20 dart legs.
Losing semi finalists were Ant Richardson, who is a Northamptonshire county A player, and Ash Allen from Moulton.
Any profits from the day go towards the running of the Spalding and District Darts League.
Thanks were given to all sponsors, MC Ian Tilley and scorer John Robinson.
The next Spalding Open will be on March 23 and is aiming to be the biggest prize money yet.
