Band set for a big night

A band is set to celebrate its 135th anniversary in style.

Stamford Town Band, of which half the current members are from the Spalding area, is putting on a special gala concert on Saturday, October 1.

The band, which is the current Midland Champion, will also be joined by special guests The Northampton Male Voice Choir for the special event.

They will be teaming up for the grand finale which will be a special recreation of the Last Night of the Proms.

The event will take place at the Oswald Elliott Hall at Stamford School.

Tickets are £15 or £10 for children and students and are available at Stamford Arts Centre or from its website www.stamfordartscentre.com
