Bakkavor announces 140 new roles at Holbeach site

Bakkavor has announced it is recruiting for 140 production roles at its chilled pizza site in Holbeach.

The jobs include both temporary & permanent roles across a range of shifts, evenings and weekends, on a full time and part time basis.

A spokesman for the company said: “This represents a welcome economic boost to the local community – at a time when the fallout from Covid has resulted in the highest level of UK unemployment for five years.

“Bakkavor has remained open for business throughout the pandemic, maintaining food supply at a critical time and ensuring that supermarket shelves remained stocked.

“Eager to recruit newcomers and kick-start people’s careers as soon as possible, these production roles would be a perfect fit for people who have just finished A-levels in the surrounding area or individuals who have come home from University for summer.”

Regionally, Bakkavor is specifically recruiting for 680 jobs across its Lincolnshire sites, with a further 196 roles to be filled in Nottingham, 148 in Kent and 139 in Bo’ness, Scotland. Bakkavor is also looking to employ people in Somerset, Lancashire, Leicestershire, London, Wiltshire and Cheshire.

Adam Freeman, general manager of operations at Bakkavor Pizza Holbeach, said: “Today’s news on 140 new jobs contributes to the economic health of the local community at a critical time.”

“Aside from good rates of pay and real opportunities to progress and develop skills, we offer new joiners a range of staff benefits including heavily discounted food products from our site staff shop.

“We are delighted to be creating significant employment opportunities at a very challenging time for the local economy and this marks a great opportunity for people to join us as we continue to service our customers.”
