Bakes and brew for Macmillan

You can have your cake and eat it – as those hosting a Macmillan Coffee Mornings did while raising money for the cancer charity.

On and around Friday, September 27, groups were invited to bake cakes and other sweet and savoury goods, to have a fundraising morning for the charity.
St Norbert’s Church in Spalding combined it with the usual Welcome Club, which held a quiz before tucking into some fantastic bakes. They raised £156 and thank everyone who helped.
Similarly, Broad Street Methodist Church’s Knit and Natter group got in on the act.
Spalding Library was very busy with people enjoying cakes and businesses also got in the act including those at accountant Cannon Williamson.
Elsewhere, Pavanotti, aka Jeff Woods, sang at an event at Cafe Aurora in Holbeach helping to raise £630.
The trained opera singer took requests, debuting his version of The Wheels on The Bus for one young attendee.
