Baby bank now open for donations

A community self-help group which started during the pandemic is still going strong and is re-opening the town’s baby bank.

The ‘amazing’ group of supporters for Holbeach Heros were told this week that the baby bank will be open due to the demand for help.
“I get so many messages asking for baby items, so I thought I would start up the baby bank once again, as locally we don’t have one,” said Sarah Phoenix who runs the Heros via the Facebook platform.
“If anyone has any baby items to gift, please let me know and drop them to me. I will ensure all items are cleaned thoroughly and sorted and then help new mums locally,” she said.
Holbeach Heros was launched during Covid when the community worked together to help each other.
With 3,000 members, the group has continued to offer goods and help to members in the area.
The Facebook group stared during the second lockdown in October 2020.
It also helped coordinate donations to a local family hit by a fire in 2021 (pictured above). Aside from replacement furniture and clothing, the group raised more than £200 for the family.
Everything from toys to ironing boards have been donated through the years.
But the demand for a baby bank has remained high, so people are being asked to contact Sarah via the Holbeach Heros Facebook page with their donations or requirements.
