Awesome effort from Spalding Indoor Bowls Club youngsters at Potters event

Spalding Indoor Bowls Club entered three triples teams into the East Anglian Junior Competition at Potters Holiday Resort in Hopton – and all did the club proud.

The three teams did very well against some strong opposition in Great Yarmouth, notably from Gallows Club (Fakenham), Acle and Ipswich.

Two of the three Spalding sides qualified from the group stages to the quarter-finals, where both were beaten by a close margin.

The third junior triples team lost out on qualification by four points, having matched results with Ipswich throughout.

The eight players to represent SIBC were Jonathan Field, Aaron Wild and Danielle Wild (team one), Morgan Sillett, Nathan Puttrell and Nicole Moseley (team two), while Aaron Barnes and Emily

Day were joined by a guest from Acle, due the unavailability of Spalding’s ninth player.

A large group of supporters – included parents, grandparents and friends – made the 200 mile round-trip to support the three teams at the venue, which also holds the world championships.
