Away draws for South Holland duo in Emirates FA Cup

Both Spalding United and Holbeach United have been handed away draws in the third qualifying round of The Emirates FA Cup.

Spalding, who won 3-0 at Evo-Stik League First Division South rivals Coalville Town on Saturday, will be hot favourites to progress as they visit Midland League Premier Division side Sporting Khalsa.

Based near Walsall, step five Khalsa won 3-2 at Basford United – who Spalding drew 2-2 with last week – on Saturday.

Holbeach’s reward for their dramatic 1-1 draw at Worcester City on Saturday – which saw keeper Ricky Drury score an amazing injury-time equaliser – is an away date at Solihull Moors, the current leaders in the National League North. They must, however, win Tuesday’s replay at Worcester first.

Solihull survived a scare to defeat the Tigers’ UCL Premier Division rivals Oadby Town 3-1 on Saturday.

The ties will be played on October 10 and the winners will bank a healthy £7,500 in prize money.

Perhaps more importantly, teams playing in the third qualifying round are just two wins from the first round proper.

The full draw can be found here.
