Awards for village councillors

Two Pinchbeck councillors have been recognised for their work for the village.

Both current chair Richard Dobbs and Maurice Chappel received recognition for their services to the community at a special tribute evening.

It had been put on specifically to recognise Maurice who was presented with the ‘Honorary Freeman of the Parish of Pinchbeck’.

This would allow Maurice to walk his sheep down Knight Street and allow them to graze on parish council and common land and was thanked by Richard for his years of service.

But there was also a surprise for Richard who has served the Parish Council since May 1983 and been chairman three times including his current two year stint in role.

Vice-Chairman James Avery acknowledged Richard’s fine work and presented him with a suitably engraved silver salver as a thank you for his service for the community.
