A council-owned housing development has won a building award.
South Holland District Council won the Building Excellence Award for the homes in Small Drove, Weston. It was for the best large social housing development in the region.
Presented by the East Midlands Local Authority Building Control, the award was made for the council’s flagship redevelopment.
“I hope this development proves to be a model for our future housing projects,” said Coun Lawton.
The scheme saw the demolition of ten old prefab bungalows to make way for 34 new affordable homes.
It also provided 20 homes for letting via the housing register and 14 shared-ownership properties.
The council was also nominated for the People and Place Awards 2021 in the same category.
