ASB fighter officer commendation

A police officer who has fought anti-social behaviour in South Holland has received a Chief Constable’s Commendation Certificate at an awards ceremony in Lincoln.

PC Craig Lockton joined the Metropolitan Police in 1999 and transferred to Lincolnshire in December 2003.

He was posted to South Holland where he has worked between Spalding and Holbeach until the present day.

PC Lockton became a Community Beat Manager in May 2010 looking after the Spalding Estates beat until last year when he undertook a new venture working directly with South Holland District Council.

The commendation said: “In the last year, PC Lockton has worked tirelessly as a founding and leading member of the Operational Partnership Team with South Holland District Council and other partners to address anti-social behaviour and local crime issues.

“His experience and effort has proved invaluable in solving all manner of anti-social behaviour. One of the best examples of this was his contribution to a 60 per cent year-on-year decrease in anti-social behaviour in the town of Crowland.

“PC Lockton is by far the most experienced neighbourhood policing officer in the area and is held in high regards by his colleagues, partners and supervisors.

“He is popular with the public and known by many in the town of Spalding. Craig is a source of advice and information to colleagues within neighbourhood policing, other departments and partner agencies alike.”

Chief Constable Bill Skelly said: “The awards are held to recognise the outstanding achievements of our officers and members of the public.

“We are a family force and this was a great opportunity to say thank you to our officers, police staff, volunteers and members of the public.

“In this force we talk about policing with PRIDE; that is Professionalism, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Empathy, and these awards show some of our police staff who have demonstrated what it means.”
