As you were at the top of Voice League after rivals battle to 0-0 stalemate

The Division One title race in The Spalding and South Holland Voice six-a-side League is still very much alive after rivals Polishborough and Tekkers drew 0-0 in their huge showdown on Monday.

With third-placed You’ve Got No Fans beaten 6-4 by Football Club earlier in the night at Surfleet’s Glen Park, it now looks to be a two-horse race and a grandstand finish in the final few weeks of the campaign.

In Division Two, Puyol Pants Down again missed their chance to seal the title and promotion as they suffered a surprise 1-0 loss against Tekkerslovakia.

The big game of the night was the final game of the night, but it’s the only place to start the round-up.

Hyped to the extreme and billed as a giants clash, it was unfitting then that the Tekkers and Polishborough showdown would fizzle out to a 0-0 stalemate.

That said, it was an engrossing game. Both sides played relatively safe but Polishborough, who needed the points more, pressed harder in the second period, but defended well against the counter-attacking threat.

Tekkers’ Nigel Steadman took man of the match (MOTM) – and his side remain a point clear at the top.

The top tier action got under way with The Squad putting their goal-scoring problems behind them as they rolled to a 6-1 victory over Mirror Signal Malouda, who are now hanging onto their

Division One status by a thread. Alistair Morgan was MOTM.

Football Club – who continue to impress – then made it five wins out of five by beating YGNF 6-4. Marcus Parry impressed as MOTM.

Univeg Team, who are finishing the season strongly, beat relegation-threatened Horse & Groom 3-1. Armando Pires was the MOTM.

East Europa have announced they are leaving at the end of the season but seem determined to finish on a high as they beat Notinmymums Forest 2-1.

Vladas Fomkinas was MOTM after a few moments of creative genius.

Elsewhere, Dan Greenacre grabbed Simple FC a point over rivals Evolution in a 1-1 draw. His very impressive MOTM performance was a highlight of the evening.

Division Two started with Bowlcut Wanderers suffering a 3-0 loss to newly-named FC Salad Fingers (formerly FC Barnicols).

Brandon Harker was MOTM as they bagged a second successive 3-0 win.

After that, Nibblesborough FC kept alive their slim promotion hopes with a 3-0 win of their own against The TBME, who had recently enjoyed an upturn in form before this loss.

Jordan Graham was again MOTM in this one – his seventh in 19 games.

Puyol Pants Down, meanwhile, still need a point to be champions after a surprise 1-0 defeat to Tekkerslovakia, who have claimed some big scalps in the last few weeks.
MOTM was Matt O’Brien.

Posh Old Boys then inflicted even more misery on the newbies of How Far Can You Swim? with a 14-0 whitewash. Will Kirkham snapped up MOTM to stay on Graham’s tail in the overall stakes.

The final Division Two game of the night saw Sarah’s Boys drop to third spot, despite their 2-1 win over Mail Carters. At least Mail Carters finally managed to score, having not netted in six of their previous attempts.
