Artwork plans for train station

A mural dedicated to military personnel lost in combat is proposed for a wall at Spalding train station.

The artwork will span a section of the platform wall if the plan is accepted by members of South Holland District Council.
It will be created on boards attached to the wall.
“It will certainly be good to see, and benefit the area,” said Coun Jan Whitbourn who has submitted the application on behalf of the Friends of Spalding Station.
The group of volunteers work to improve the look of the station environment.
The Grade II listed building is owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Railway.
The station was first opened in October 1848 by the Great Northern Railway as part of the London to Doncaster line.
