Artists brighten up Fulney skate park

Fulney Skate Park in Spalding has been given a new lease of life thanks to local artists.

Karl Barfoot was one of the artists involved in the work at the skatepark which is attracting a lot of positive comments on social media after being posted on the Wombles of Spalding Common Facebook page.
Avril Berry said: “Looking amazing. Great to see that it’s still going strong – as the Community Engagement Officer working for SHDC Housing Dept I worked with the youth team and South Holland Tenants Group to get this skate park put in place – all involved put lot of voluntary time and effort applying for grants to get the money to make it happen.
“Despite the odd ‘blips’ it’s caused over the years I always feel proud when I pass it that I played a part in it. The ‘graffiti’ has definitely improved its appearance.
“I know the litter issue has always been an issue – we used to do ‘Community Litter Pick Days’. Good memories.
“Thank you Wombles for your commitment to keeping it tidy.”
Tanya Wilson Chandler said: “Looks amazing”, while Sam Smith-dale added: “Looks fantastic, well done and thank you to the artists who worked in such hot conditions.”
Peter Bird posted: “Awesome job. Well done guys”, while Kevin Scott added: Let’s hope it’s appreciated.”
