Art group readies exhibition

A collective of creatives is set to exhibit their work.

Sutton Bridge Art Group are preparing for the upcoming art exhibition at St Matthew’s Church, Sutton Bridge. Members of the art group will be entering their paintings in a competition to be judged by the public.

Last year’s winner was Lesley Robinson, this year herself and Chairman John Fitzsimmons are looking for lots of entries from the art group.

Lesley said the art group now has about 40 members and would always welcome new members. They meet every Wednesday afternoon at 2.30pm at the Curlew Centre, Sutton Bridge.

She added: “The art exhibition has been running at St Matthew’s Church since 1997. Organisers are pleased to have once again received a Sutton Bridge Power Fund grant which helps to run a successful exhibition, hundreds of painting and prints will be on display, proceeds from the sale of painting will go towards restoration of our pretty Flint church.”

The exhibition runs from Saturday, August 24 to Thursday, August 29. Tea and coffees will be served in the church.
