Armed police raid finds cannabis farm and 17 stolen vehicles at Spalding site

Armed police have raided what appears to be a cannabis farm in Spalding last night (Tuesday) after tracing stolen vehicle.

Lincolnshire Rural Crime Action Team say it was a ‘known location’ with police saying it’s at a site off the A16 near Spalding.

Officers discovered 18 large bags of cannabis, 15 cannabis grows and a host of stolen vehicles including five trailers, a JCB, a quad bike and a wood chipper.

They also seized a ‘very thin’ young German Shepherd for a concern over its welfare.

No arrests have been made in relation to the finds as yet, a police spokesman said this morning at 10.30am.

A spokesman for the Rural Crime Action Team said: “Following some great work by members of our Armed Response team through the previous night where a stolen vehicle had been tracked to a known location near to Spalding.

“Officers gained access to the site, locating cannabis and stolen vehicles. The site was secured till daylight hours where with the help of local response officers, the Tactical Response Team (TST) and some other specialist officers the site was searched.

“This was a big team effort and involved great support from other organisations we work with.

“The investigation is ongoing.”
