Appleby makes Holbeach United U-turn

VOICE football

Steve Appleby has resigned as co-manager of Holbeach United – just a week after being unveiled at Carter’s Park.

The former Wisbech Town chief, who was to form a managerial dream team with UCL Premier Division title-winning boss John Chand, stepped down today (Wednesday).

It is understood that Appleby was unable to commit to the Tigers long term and that he isn’t interested in taking another non-league job.

A spokesman from Holbeach told The Voice that Chand is now likely to look for somebody else to fill the void left by Appleby, but no decision has yet been made.
