The second phase of consultation on a wind farm that’s proposed to join the national grid at Weston Marsh north of Spalding has launched.
Companies including Corio Generation, TotalEnergies and Gulf Energy Development are looking to build the Outer Dowsing Offshore wind farm.
The turbines themselves will be 33 miles off the coast of Lincolnshire further north.
The proposal is for underground cables to carry the power on to the land at Anderby Marsh and to a new onshore substation near Weston Marsh.
The company said over 800 people responded to its most recent consultation which has shaped the new plans.
Those behind the project have put on a string of consultation events, including online at Outer Dowsing Statutory Consultation – Outer Dowsing
Online webinar and question and answer sessions will take place at 7pm on Wednesday, June 28 and 2pm to 3pm the following day.
The nearest face to face consultation to South Holland takes place on Saturday, July 1 from 2pm to 8pm at Fosdyke Village Hall.
The statutory consultation runs until Friday, July 21.
Chris Jenner, Outer Dowsing development director, said: “As local knowledge is vital to the project to help us build the wind farm in the most socially and environmentally sensitive way, we are keen to continue meeting with our communities and consultees so that we can incorporate their feedback into the project design.
“We are often asked where the project will connect to the National Grid.
“There are two connection options under consideration for the Project; Lincolnshire Node or Weston Marsh, but the connection point has not yet been confirmed by the National Grid. Therefore, we will continue to consult on design proposals for both options but only one of these connection points will be taken forward when the application is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate.”
