Another draw for Tigers as Roberts leaves

There was another draw for Holbeach United whose joint manager Simon Roberts left this week.
His departure was announced following the club’s 1-1 draw with Diss Town in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North on Saturday, The Tigers’ 10th stalemate of the league season.
Once again they came from behind, Bogdan Masnita netting in the second half after Kye Baker’s goal for Diss.
“Diss have drawn nine games themselves so I guess it was always likely to be that result,” said now sole manager Danny Clifton. “I thought we were really good.
“It was an even first half but we were moving the ball well and knew they’d tail off in the last 20 minutes.
“We got the goal and did enough to win the game but their goalkeeper made some very good saves and we didn’t take the chances we should have.”
On Roberts’ departure, Clifton said: “It wasn’t anything bad, we’re still talking and all is ok.
“It’s just something that he needed to do. It’s a shame and we’ll miss him.
“It’s now about finding the right person to come in as a first team coach.
“Dean Elston’s stepping up to do that for Framlingham at home on Saturday and you can’t ask for better than that.”
Tigers: Rigby, Nicholson, Johnson, H Henderson, Oldham, Carter, Bilicz, Davies, Masnita, Yambasu. Subs: F Henderson, Millinson, Cook, Smith, Appleby.
Attendance: 101
