Angling success for Thomas

Spalding Fishing Club entered its first National Championship for many years.
34 teams fished the Grand Union Canal between Northampton and Milton Keynes and whilst not expected to beat many of the sponsored canal sides Spalding were very disappointed to finish 24th.
There were some good performances, none more so than Alan Thomas who came second in his 34 peg zone at Grafton Regis with an excellent 3kg 150g, comprehensively beating those around him and also winning his nine-peg section.
There were commendable performances from captain David Corcoran who was eighth in his section and both Rob Madden and Matthew Corcoran whom came 12th in their respective sections.
For the rest of the team, Rob Ferraro, Laz Crow, Alfie Kendall, Gary Hardy, Colin Fisher and Andy Wilson, it became a day to forget.
