Angling society look to net litter

Peterborough and District Angling Society members are carrying out a litter pick of the River Welland in Spalding this Sunday (April 21) and they’re looking for people to join them.

Possibly the only advantage to the river levels being so low is that litter can be picked up from it.
Spalding Wombles have already done some sections.
Now the club which is responsible for handing out licences for fishing on the river will be getting in.
A club spokesman said: ” With the weather improving it’s a great opportunity to help tidy up the town and get involved in the community
“We’ll be meeting at Herring Lane car park next to The Lincolnshire Poacher at 10am and providing all the kit, just bring yourself and some suitable clothing.”
You can register for the litter pick in advance at https://forms.gle/V5urwDm5uWFa77Ek7
