Military vehicles were out in force at the weekend for a fundraiser in Fleet.
A huge cheque for £10,000 was presented by Harold Payne, of the Anglia Motel, to members of the Royal Anglian Regiment’s A Company.
He has raised a total of £132,000 for the regiment’s benevolent fund over the last five years.
The latest event, in Fleet, saw classic military vehicles of all shapes and sizes arrive from Nottingham, Norwich and beyond to entertain visitors and raise £730.
“It went well and we had a good weekend. The money is all for a good cause and we enjoy it,” said Mr Payne.
An array of military vehicles will be heading across the county border into Norfolk this weekend.
A two-day event is being held in Hunstanton and will again be raising money for veterans.
There will be a display on the town’s Green from 9am both days and a historic Dakota aircraft is scheduled to fly over on Sunday.
“We try to recreate the beach of Arrommarche, Normandy in 1944 and there will be lots going on,” said Mr Payne.
A further weekend, including an aerial display, is also planned for Hunstanton on September 2 and 3.
