Angela’s super 71 seals July Medal victory at Spalding Golf Club

Angela Roper saw off 36 Spalding Golf Club team-mates to win the July Medal in the ladies’ section.

The medal, played in conjunction with the Classic Cup, was boosted by dry conditions at the Surfleet course – and the scores reflected that.

Roper topped the standings with a nett 71, ahead of Paula Brown (72) and Barbara Newcombe (73). Both second-placed Brown and Newcombe received a cut in handicap.

Fourth place went to Julie Gooderson with a nett 74. She was also the Division Two winner.
