Amber-Jane is nailing life

A 21-year-old has been ranked among the best in the country at her profession just a year after opening her Spalding business.

Amber-Jane Parish owns The Painted Lady which on Sunday was named as the runner-up in the Nail Salon of the Year at the English Hair and Beauty Awards 2019.

She and her only employee, 17-year-old sister Eden-Ann Parish, came ahead of far more established salons following the various regional votes and judging to be named at the top two in the country at the awards in Birmingham.

Amber-Jane gave up her A-Levels and her plans to become a lawyer after enjoying painting her mum Debbie Parish’s nails so much.

“It’s a big deal to win the award,” she said. “To be nominated for it by my clients is fantastic.

“I was up against some very big salons so I didn’t expect this at all.

“This is what I want to do forever now and I want to be the best.”

Mum Debbie, said: “Amber’s always been artistic and I didn’t know how much you could do with nails.”
