Amazing Holbeach United comeback stuns hosts Yaxley

Holbeach United produced a stunning comeback to win 4-2 at high-flying Yaxley in the ChromaSport UCL Premier Division on Tuesday night.

Two goals from ex-Spalding United forward Dan Cotton put hosts Yaxley in firm command at half time and left Holbeach with a real mountain to climb.

But Jordan Thomas and Stacey Cartwright scored early in the second period to level it up, before striker Thomas grabbed his second to put the Tigers ahead for the first time.

Keeper Ricky Drury pulled off a smart save to deny Cotton his hat-trick late on, then Andrew Tidswell converted an injury-time penalty to clinch a stunning success for Darren Jarvis’ side.

The win moves Holbeach up to fifth in the standings – and they have at least one game in hand on every side above them.

More to follow.
